The purpose of the course is to teach students some of the meditation practices and skills that have contributed to the success of Kobe Bryant, Cristiano Ronaldo, Megan Rapinoe, Carli Lloyd and other athletes and celebrities. By teaching these skills through the lens of sports,  I hope to capture your child’s interest and motivation. After learning how to apply the skills we learn within the framework of athletics, we will discuss how they can be utilized to increase focus and concentration in school and in other areas of life. This class is ideal for students struggling with maintaining attention and focus in school and will provide a number of practical and useful strategies that will lead to growth.

The Instructor

Michael has worked as an educator and counsellor for over 20 years. He holds a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Philosophy from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counselling from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. In addition, Michael has extensive training in meditation and mindfulness techniques. Michael has worked with children, adolescents and adults. His psychotherapeutic approach is rooted in leveraging strengths, teaching new skills and encouraging personal empowerment in a process of optimising well-being, performance and happiness.
