The purpose of this course is to tap into students’ creative imaginations and to use techniques drawn from meditation and other contemplative practices to create dynamic positive artistic representations while teaching particular meditative techniques that can be used in school and in life. An explicit outcome of this course is to teach students creative ways to manage stress and uncertainty, while enhancing adaptive and positive emotional states.

The Instructor

Michael has worked as an educator and counsellor for over 20 years. He holds a Masters degree in Interdisciplinary Philosophy from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Science in Mental Health Counselling from the University of Massachusetts – Boston. In addition, Michael has extensive training in meditation and mindfulness techniques. Michael has worked with children, adolescents and adults. His psychotherapeutic approach is rooted in leveraging strengths, teaching new skills and encouraging personal empowerment in a process of optimising well-being, performance and happiness.
